Being an educator I played many roles in improving the education and so the life of every student has come across. Learning and updating in education and technology are very essential for educators. It’s been 25 years long being an educator with various roles in academics. I have witnessed and faced many challenges and adaptations in providing education. Educators and the students require awareness of the latest teaching-learning techniques. The recent method of online Education brought forth different learning environments in the field of education.
Pallavi Engineering College established to create, nurture, and shape technical professionals and leaders to create an inclusive and sustainable society in a national and international perspective. To achieve this vision through quality education, Pallavi Engineering College has launched undergraduate engineering degree programs that nurture many vibrant and promising professionals equipped with skills to face the ever-changing social, economical, and technical landscape of our country.
PEC offers 4 year skill-oriented 6 Undergraduate B. Tech. Programmes in Computer Science and Engineering(CSE); Cyber Security(CSE); Data Sciences(CSE); Electronics and Communication Engineering(ECE); Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE); and Civil Engineering (CE); with a recent added MBA; The institute also offers a 3 year skilled training 4 diploma programmes in various disciplines of engineering and technology viz., Computer Science and Engineering(CSE); Mechanical Engineering (ME); Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE); and Civil Engineering (CE).
The achievements of Pallavi Engineering College are enormous over the years in the field of education. That marks acquiring a place in the Asian book of Records for ‘Massive Green Pledge”, certification from ISO 9001 and many more.
Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those who don’t rest on past laurels. PEC has started its journey in the year 2009 to provide quality education based on its vision and mission. The College is an amalgamation of competent teachers, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and an experienced and efficient Management, safe and supportive environment for its students to provide a perfect balance of academics, sports, technical and social opportunities.
Education today is no longer confined to the four walls of the classroom. Education is a continuous process that prepares the student at every opportunity to think, to learn, to create, and to help others with a right and positive attitude. At present, the round development of any individual is essential to compete with global challenges. To face the real-life challenges, efforts must be put in to provide qualitative, value-based, and activity-oriented education.
In the present scenario the expectation of students is an immediate job, but they need to be aware of their talents, interests, strengths, and weakness to be successful. Engineering studies is a dream for many students, as the field is lively and interesting where they can earn more. The pandemic has resulted that students are accustomed to instant learning.
As a Principal of Pallavi Engineering College has initiated our campus into a Wi-Fi-enabled campus. Apart from changing syllabus and technology, the college is equipped with a digital library with the latest journals and including physical book bank facility system to the students.
I have faced real-time challenges of improving technical education among the students as well as to the guiders. As a principal, have to make sure that the educational system is truly aware of the psychology of the slow learning student’s experience. Implemented new methods to prevent peer ridicule that too often results from academic excellence. Now, a choice-based credit system is a very good initiative which is encouraging students to choose their interesting subjects. The number of subjects can be reduced for the ease of slow learners. Also, apart from the regular lab exercises, application-related designs are included in the laboratory with the teaching-learning process. There are many other methods included in teaching-learning to the students. Innovations on methods of teaching, considering the different criteria like analysis on students learning style, environment, available resources, etc are encouraged in the campus.
Available time for the faculties for self-improvement has gone down due to more clerical works was given to them to be completed from time to time. All the faculties are trained on course curriculum development, instructional design methods, etc for encouraging active learning and outcome-based education.
I have ensured that a critical review and monitoring on Project work and industrial training to enhance their placement prospectus. Arranged Aptitude, Group discussion, and Mock interview classes are being implemented to improve the skill sets of students to enable them to be competitive. Extended personal care to all students throughout their session with us and even after they pass out. The entire team of PEC leaves no stone unturned to make you stay comfortable and eventful both in terms of academic, curricular, and extracurricular activities.
In this era of stiff competition, success can only be achieved if we build good character and enrich minds by educating them at right time and in the right direction. In concern with this, our Pallavi Engineering College is providing a conducive and congenial atmosphere both for the teachers and students with a very comprehensive infrastructure such as state-of-the-art facility and also well qualified, highly dedicated and experienced staff with utmost commitment; so that the activity of teaching and learning is being done successfully.
