In the early days of my education I wanted become software engineer. As the days progressed there was a transition in myself that I should take teaching as my profession. There was a strong reason that my father and mother both are teachers. I am today recognized as a professor may be because I was born and brought up in teacher’s family. Due to growing demand of analysis and classification of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images for variety of application, is of great concern today. It has not only limited to military surveillance but also extended to other applications like: earth observation, epidemiological surveillance for flood, agriculture etc. With the progress and development of research in SAR image analysis and classification, there exist some established theory, techniques and algorithms. In the last few decades, researchers and engineers have developed new models, techniques and algorithms to build a better SAR image classification methodology. There is also a continuous attempt by the researcher’s to develop newer classification techniques using more features for variety of applications. Therefore, there is a scope to develop a comprehensive classification technique using as many features as possible. My PhD research topic is Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image processing.
