Q1. Please share your educational and professional journey with us?
I did my undergraduate in BBA from Subramaniam Arts and Science College Affiliated by Periyar University, Salem and MBA (Finance & Systems) from Tagore Engineering College Affiliated by Anna University, Chennai and then M.Com (Accounting & Finance) from Annamalai University. I have completed my Ph.D in management under the guidance of Professor Cum Director Dr.V.R.Palanivelu from Periyar Institute of Management Studies (PRIMS), Periyar University, Salem.
Last 11 years, I have worked with Selvamm Arts & Science College, PGP College of Arts & Science and CMS College of Engineering in Namakkal and handled the classes both UG and PG (BBA & MBA) and act as Guest lecturer in many colleges in & around in Tamilnadu and now working in Selvamm Arts & Science College (Autonomous), Namakkal. As a EDC coordinator, I received grant from DST-NIMAT, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India & successfully conducted Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) for the benefit students entrepreneurs (2018-19 & 2019-20) and participated & presented a paper in International conference held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Q2. You had done MBA in Finance and System. Why did you go for teaching profession?
Because of my passion to become a professor. Many teachers and professors in my school days onwards up to and till now inspiring me.
Accounting & Finance also History is my favorite subject. That’s why i selected Arts group (3rd group) in my higher secondary course.
Q3. Does MBA really excite students now days comparing 10 years before?
In my perspective, 10 to 15 years before, Vast demand is there for MBA graduates in job market but now a days it is in reverse trend due to many colleges (like mushrooms) that offering MBA programs with lack of proper infrastructure facilities. MBA is different from other program, that’s why it’s called as Professional course. But now? You know the trend clearly now.
Q4. What is the role of Practical’s and Market Survey in Business Administration?
Market survey/research and practical’s is an effective tool to assist any business planning and administering the business effectively. It is about collecting information that provides an insight into our customers thinking, buying patterns, and location. In addition, market research can also assist us to monitor market trends, etc.
Q5. What are the main key points in Business Administration?
The following are the main key points in Business Administration – Knowing the business thoroughly in the aspect of risk and return, Feasibility analysis (Technical, Economical, etc.,), Legal formalities (Registration, Rules & regulations), Infrastructure facilities, Competitor analysis, Demand & Supply, Commercialization (Advertising & Marketing),etc.
Q6. What was your Thesis topic in Ph.D. Share something about that one?
I did my Ph.D in Management and my research topic was “A Study on Investment Behavior of People with Reference to Namakkal District, Tamilnadu, India”. I selected this topic because of our Namakkal district major businesses are Poultry forms, Lorry body building, Manufacturing rig wells and Allied services. Many of the peoples depending these professions.
Q7. Which one skill do you like most in your teaching pattern?
Through Power Point Presentation (PPT) and Explaining the subjects with suitable example (At present scenario) is the way i mingling with the students.
Q8. Give some tips to BBA and MBA students to get more success in Business Management?
Whenever i go to the classes of BBA & MBA, I always telling to the students (future India) “You people don’t study the BBA & MBA as a course or subject, you people study the BBA & MBA like as your business, startups, etc., also you people don’t become a job seeker, you people should become a job provider”. This is my tips for BBA & MBA aspirants
Q9. What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are reading motivational books (Authored Robin Sharma, Shiv Kera, etc.,), Learning new technologies related with education, Attending online courses, etc., Apart from these, Playing volley ball, cricket with my son (He is a national champion in gun shooting under the 14 age category held at Jammu & Kashmir in Dec. 2018), Cooking (I cook amazingly compare with my mom & my wife) Chatting with my Grandpa and Grandma.
