Q1. Please share your educational and professional journey?

I have been a Hindi medium student of a rural area in Central India, Completed my Schooling from Sarswati Shishu Mandir Sidhi MP, after that tried for Pre Medical Entrance but unfortunately not succeeded. After that, I got Admission in B.Pharmacy at the Department of Pharmacy B.U Bhopal by State PET. And I completed my Bachelor in Pharmacy, and during my eighth semester, I Qualified for GPAT and NIPER JEE and got admission to NIPER HAjipur in M.S. Pharm. After completion of the M.S. Pharma, I got selected for CSIR-GATE-JRF and joined CSIR CSMCRI Bhavnagar Gujarat for Ph.D. I completed my Ph.D. (2013-2018). After that, I Got awarded for prestigious JSPS Postdoctoral fellowship, and I joined at School of Medicine at The University of Tokyo, Japan.

Q2. What did attract you towards Pharmaceutical Education?

When I did not get success in PMT entrance after Class 12, I thought I would do something similar course in which I can get medical knowledge with pharmaceutical knowledge. In the interdisciplinary course, I can understand the depth of medical education, as well as pharmaceutical expertise and I, can use both in the research of medicine, which is very interesting, so I chose this field.  

Q3. You are a JSPS postdoctoral researcher at The University of Tokyo Japan. Currently, you are working on which research and how it will be helpful for everyone?

The postoperative peritoneal adhesion is very common in abdominal surgeries, it causes several health consequences, even death. In this condition, a pathological bonds form between the omentum, the small and large bowels, the abdominal wall, and other intra-abdominal organs.

I am working on this area, and I am preparing an injectable hydrogel system which can prevent most peritoneal adhesion along with hemostatic and antimicrobial properties, that will protect from infection and blood loss as well as peritoneal adhesion.

Q4. How do you motivate yourself at every morning?

The actual motivation of my life is my research passion, Every day I start the day with the hope of doing something new in my research and getting something new, and I try my best to get every moment this is my first motivation. And Every day in my life competes with the previous day, I try to win my self. This motivation to succeed is my motivation.

Q5. You did Ph. D from CSIR. What was your Thesis topic in Ph.D? Please share some brief about it?

Yes, I completed My Ph.D. from CSIR CSMCRI Bhavnagar under the supervision of Dr Suresh Jewrajka Senior Scientist. I worked on the synthesis of amphiphilic materials and hydrogel systems for biomedical applications. Insight of exploring the amphiphilic responsive polymer synthesis and formulations as an alternative to conventional drug delivery system systems for biomedical applications.

Q6. Where do you want to see yourself after 10 years in career?

I believe in hope, and I want to establish a distinguished world-class interdisciplinary research group and lab in India, which will be able to solve our various societal problems. 

Q7. Which one thing do you want to change in yourself/your domain and why?

I want to update my self from the previous day.

Q8. What do you do in your free time? Do you update yourself in terms of education?

In my free time, I spend time on social media and playing table tennis

Q9. You are researching in Japan. Please share some path to the Indian Researchers to get a chance to do study and research at abroad universities?

Students can join a Japanese university at the level of  Bachelor, Master, PhD. and Postdoctoral under the various fellowship Japanese government fellowship programs. MEXT fellowships, JSPS fellowship, many others. Here several Indian student associations (UTISA available on FB) are beneficial; Indian students can contact and ask for any kind of information and help.
